There was always another fear. Another hill to keep pushing the bolder. Or be crushed by it. Once proud, promising future, trapped in the pit of a lost past. Overworked and under the gun. Burning the last thread of the wick till there was no light left.

Fueled to film, write, edit, and express imagination every night and weekend, every free family moment. No matter the gain, it was never enough. Creative worlds blistered the skin from within. Every time a new wearied hope prayed this one will open the door.

Adaptation to uncertainty in a pandemic was impossible and unmooring to witness systems in collapse. Deep in a bubble, directing an international video (literally in bed over on Zoom and What’sApp), once-certain cinematic dreams awoke to the permanent nightmare of our times.

Everything from before must CHANGE.

And it did. Laid off cold from the company and career they knew better than their own family. Depths of depression, existential, and professional crises reactivated the sleeper. PTSD became normal operating procedure. Grief upon grief. Spiritual annihilation took root.

Giving up. Crying out! Praying for new life.

Silence. In the wind is this quiet voice, hidden inside, waiting the whole time to be heard, to feel free to let herself be known. Healing hands reached out and took away the despair. In return, the surprising grace of a colorful fresh life.

AND (she / they) is a coordinating conjunction, between who went before and one who comes next.

A self discovery on an restorative journey. The work now is to humbly help others feel a little more seen, known, and shown on their path to transformation. To witness the truth on an emotional level to help discern the stories we need to share that will connect and transform us.

To reflect our vulnerable authenticity and tenacity to change ourselves and the world.
